Skisser är ett kraftfullt verktyg inom design, produktutveckling och egentligen allt möjligt… Det hjälper dig att kommunicera på ett snabbt och enkelt sätt under de olika faserna i ett utvecklingsarbete.

Idag, när vi har en mängd digitala verktyg att använda, är det lätt att glömma hur snabbt och effektiv det är med handskisser! Med skisser kan du…

• definiera, utvärdera och konkretisera dina idéer.
• dela och kommunicera idéer med kollegor, investerare och målgrupp.
• diskutera och förfina produkter och tekniska lösningar.
• presentera koncept för beslutsfattare.

I mitten av januari höll vi en workshop med temat “Kommunicera med skisser”. Intresset var stort och workshopen fullbokad. Vi höll en kort föreläsning med introduktion till skissning och vad man bör tänka på. Sedan fick deltagarna träna skissteknik i olika övningar och de fick även möjlighet att testa olika skissmaterial.

Tips

Här har jag summerat några grundläggande tips för att komma igång att skissa:

Våga!

• Glöm all blyghet och prestationsångest
• Var inte rädd för att rita fult och förstöra det fina vita pappret.

Öva!

• Handen och ögat behöver träning, så öva, öva, öva…
• Räkna med många skisser av samma motiv innan du blir nöjd.
• Prova dig fram med olika stilar, pennor och papper så du hittar det du gillar.

“Fuska!”

• Kolla på internet hur andra ritar, t.ex en bil…
• Hitta en lämplig bild att rita av, och vidareutveckla sedan.

Sketches is a powerful tool in design, product development and almost everywhere… It helps you to communicate in a quick and easy way during the various phases of a development work.

Today, when we have a lot of digital tools to use, it’s easy to forget how fast and efficient it is with hand sketches! With sketches you can…

• define, evaluate and concretize your ideas.
• share and communicate ideas with colleagues, investors and target groups
• discuss and refine products and technical solutions
• present concept for decision makers.

In mid-January we held a workshop on the theme “Communicate with sketches”. The interest was great and the workshop fully booked. We gave a short lecture with an introduction to sketching and what to think about. The participants then got to practice sketch technique in different exercises and they also got the opportunity to test different sketch material.

Tips

Here I have summarized some basic tips for getting started with sketching:

Dare!

• Forget about shyness and performance anxiety.
• Don’t be afraid to draw ugly and destroy the fine white paper.

Practice!

• The hand and the eye need training, so practice, practice, practice…
• Expect many sketches of the same motif before you are satisfied.
• Try out different styles, pens and papers to find what you like.

“Cheat!”

• Check on the internet how others draw, e.g. a car…
• Find a suitable image to draw from, and then refine.
