Hej Anders Sultan! Tre snabba frågor till en projektledare!

Hi Anders Sultan! Three quick questions to a project manager!

(Scroll down for English)

ENGLISH

Anders Sultan is an engineer and project manager with many years of experience in product development in the automotive industry and other industries. Now he works at Hedson Technologies and has led the work of developing a brand new product, SmartCure, which was recently launched. With new technology and new design, SmartCure will set a new industry standard!

You hired Marie from Öresund Strategy & Design as an industrial designer in your work to develop SmartCure. Why and what has the designer contributed with?

We realized that this will be a completely new type of product for Hedson and we just needed help with the design. We wanted to hire someone with a great deal of experience in industrial design, and it was also important that the designer had an understanding of and be able to get into the history of the company and the brand and what design language we had historically and have on existing products.

The designer’s mission was to find a new design language for an entire new series of UV-LED lamps, but with clear recognition from the company’s history, so that the customer recognizes the brand.

At the same time, we wanted to think new and create a modern and easy-to-use product. It was important that the product was well designed ergonomically and had a clear and intuitive user interface.

The design of the new product should be experienced new and modern with a clear development step from previous products, but still in a well-balanced way so that we gain good market acceptance.

You have worked with industrial designers in many of the projects you have led over the years. Has it been different to work with Marie at Öresund Strategy & Design and if so how?

Yes, I think it has been different in the way that Marie has so much experience in the engineering part of designing products, and it was really noticeable in the project. It enabled us to directly find a design language that was also possible to realize. The design was constructible from the beginning and not many design loops were required because of this. For us at Hedson and for this project it suited very well.

What tips would you give other industrial companies when it comes to industrial design?

My tip is to put a lot of resources into the project early. Get help from an experienced industrial designer already in the pre-study phase and plan a larger work effort with the entire project team as early as possible. A well-elaborated pre-study with defined functionality and design make it easier to develop a good project plan and then keep schedule and budget.

Anything else you want to add?

I think it has been a very nice collaboration. Working with Marie has been fun and this is also an important factor.
